Which browser should I use?
Chrome is recommended for Print / Save as PDF. Safari can occasionally save a blank PDF when using File → Print → Save as PDF directly — if this happens, use the PDF dropdown in Safari's print dialog and choose ‘Open PDF in Preview’ instead. Chrome requires pop-ups to be allowed for print. Dictation works best in Chrome.
How do I allow pop-ups in Chrome?
When Chrome blocks a pop-up, a small icon appears in the address bar. Click it and select ‘Always allow pop-ups from this site’.
How do I update my practice details?
Click My Profile on the dashboard. Your name, qualifications, practice name, and contact email appear on all outputs.
How do I start a paediatric session?
Click New Patient, then select the Paediatric / Baby toggle at the top of Step 1. A full birth and developmental history form (Step 1b) will appear before Step 2.
How long does the CRR take to generate?
Up to 2 minutes. Do not refresh the page while it is generating.
What is the Second Look gate?
Four questions at Step 4 that create a contemporaneous record of your clinical reasoning. Q4 must explain how the worst case was excluded. ClinIQ will not proceed if Q4 is too short.
Can I edit the CRR after it is generated?
Yes. Click any section to edit. Changes are saved automatically and marked with an Edited badge.
How do I generate a GP or solicitor letter?
Go to Patient Records, open the patient’s CRR, then click GP / Consultant Letter. Select the recipient type from the dropdown. Solicitor letters include a CPR Part 35 Statement of Truth automatically.
What is the Plain Language Guide?
A patient-facing letter summarising the session. Three modes: Adult, Paediatric (written to parent), and Advanced (clinical peer level). Generated from the CRR — edit before printing.
How does the scan function work?
Click Scan in New Patient, upload photos or a PDF of a completed questionnaire, then click Scan. ClinIQ reads the answers and populates the fields automatically. Always review populated fields before proceeding.
How do I use dictation?
Click the microphone button on any text field. Speak clearly, then click again to stop. Chrome gives the best dictation results. Review all dictated text before generating the CRR.
Print or PDF is not working.
In Chrome: this is usually the pop-up blocker — allow pop-ups from this site in Chrome settings. In Safari: if the saved PDF comes out blank, open the print dialog (Cmd+P), click ‘Show Details’ if collapsed, then use the PDF dropdown in the bottom-left corner and choose ‘Open PDF in Preview’ instead of ‘Save as PDF’ directly. Chrome is the more reliable option for Print / PDF overall.
The CRR generation seems stuck.
Wait up to 2 minutes. Do not refresh. If it fails after 2 minutes, check your internet connection and try again.
My abbreviation was not recognised.
ClinIQ will pause and ask you to define it. The definition is saved to your personal dictionary and used automatically in future sessions.
